ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP
ITINERARY FOR THE TOUR
DAY 01
| Arrival at Kathmandu |
| Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and transfer to a Hotel. |
DAY 02
| Kathmandu-Pokhara (200 km) |
| After breakfast, travel to Pokhara (200 km), which takes around 5/6 hours. In Pokhara, evening preparation for trekking. |
DAY 03
| Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga / Ullari (1540m) |
| Breakfast in Pokhara and drive to Nayapul by private cab/car, which takes 2 hours and covers nearly 46km. Start trek to Tikhedhunga (4-5 hours walk) and ascend slowly through terraced fields and classic mountain villages. |
DAY 04
| Trek to Ghorepani (2750m) (4-5 Hours Trek) |
| Breakfast, and start the steep uphill trek in the morning until Ulleri, and comparatively easy uphill trek to Ghorepani through delightful villages, and beautiful dense rhododendron forest. If the weather is clear, you will see stunning mountain views from Ghorepani, making the climb well worth it. |
DAY 05
| Poon Hill Sunrise, Trek to Tadapani (2710m) (6-7 Hours Trek) |
| Wake up early and hike up to Poonhill for sunrise, Annapurna/Dhaulagiri Himalayan Panorama view. Breakfast back in Ghorepani and continue trek to Tadapani through rhododendron forests. If you are lucky, you will see some wild animals, such as langur monkeys climbing through the trees. There are excellent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare from Tadapani. |
DAY 06
| Tadapani Trek to Chhomrong (2100m) |
| Breakfast and downhill trek Chhomrong for 5/6 hours. Chhomrong itself is a beautiful village, typically Gurung in style, situated in the lap of the great Annapurna massif. Chhomrong is the highest permanent settlement in the valley. |
DAY 07
| Trek to Dovan (2430m) (6-7 Hours Trek) |
| Breakfast and trek descend to Chhomrong Khola and the steep uphill trek to Sinuwa. The trail follows the river through another tiny settlement known as Bamboo, which has some tea houses and crosses three streams before arriving at Dovan (2430m). |
DAY 08
| Trek to Machhapuchhare Base Camp (3700m) (6-7 Hours Trek) |
| Trek through an intermittent bamboo forest. The valley becomes increasingly hemmed in by ever steeper slopes, and there are regular streams crossing on the trail. You can also have some rest at Himalaya Hotel (2873m) before climbing to Hinko (3139m), a short path to Deurali (3231m) and on through Bagar to reach Machhapuchhare Base Camp. |
DAY 09
| Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) to Bamboo (4130m, 7-8 Hours) |
| This is a short hike of around two hours following the left-hand tributary of the Modi Khola to reach the destination of the famous ABC. From the Annapurna base camp, we retrace our steps to Bamboo. The trek is downhill, so it shouldn’t be very difficult. Besides, we will always have the company of the extraordinary landscape to cheer us up. |
DAY 10
| Trek to Bamboo-Jhinu Danda (1760m, 5-6 Hours) |
| From Bamboo, it is an uphill trek to Kuldighar followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola. Then, we climb the stone steps to Chhomrong. The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will be resting for the night. We will have an opportunity to enjoy the hot springs which are just a 15-20 minute downhill walk from Jhinu Danda to soothe our aching bodies. Overnight stay in Jhinu Danda. |
DAY 11
| Trek Back to Nayapul to Pokhara |
| We can enjoy a final downhill walk through forests and villages for about 6 hours to Nayapul. From here, we drive for about 1 hour back to Pokhara where our trek ends, and we can enjoy a shower and relax in this stunning Lakeside town enjoying the memories! |
DAY 12
| Pokhara-Kathmandu (200 km, 5-6 Hours) |
| After breakfast, transfer to Katmandu. Free evening – you may go for SPA, STEAM BATH or relax at Hotel. |
