A sacred journey to Muktinath
The holy site of Muktinath (Mukti Kshetra) stands in the Himalayan region of Mustang at approximately 3,800 metres. Revered by both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims, it is celebrated as a place of liberation and spiritual reflection. Hindus honour Lord Vishnu here, while Tibetan Buddhists know the pilgrimage site as Chumig Gyatsa, meaning “Hundred Waters”.
Within the temple complex, pilgrims may offer prayers, visit the 108 sacred water spouts and the two ritual ponds, and seek darshan at nearby Jwala Mai, known for its sacred natural flame. Ritual bathing is optional and depends on personal health, weather and available time. The dramatic mountain landscape and shared Hindu-Buddhist traditions make this one of Nepal’s most meaningful pilgrimage destinations.
FLY EVEREST HOLIDAYS combines this special experience with Pashupatinath Aarti, Guhyeshwari Mata Temple, Jal Narayan (Budhanilkantha), Swayambhunath, and Pokhara’s Bindhyabasini Temple, Tal Barahi Temple, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave and Devi’s Fall. Pilgrims also have time to enjoy Pokhara Lakeside and the natural beauty surrounding Phewa Lake.
